The Story
Still Dreaming is a celestial kinetic sculpture that explores time not simply as something measured, but as something experienced, remembered and continually in motion.
The work is a reimagining of Dale Mathis’s earlier Dream Clock, originally created during a pivotal period in his life and named after his daughter, Dream. That work represented both a personal and creative turning point.
Still Dreaming returns to that idea years later, evolved through new fabrication techniques, a refined visual language and the beginning of a new chapter with Studio CYIARK.
At the center of the sculpture, Earth slowly rotates counterclockwise, mirroring its natural rotation when viewed from above the North Pole. Behind it, radiating forms evoke the rays of the Sun and divide the composition into twelve sections representing the months of the year.
To the left, the Moon becomes part of a mechanical calendar. An astronaut positioned at its center points toward the current day of the month, transforming the passage of days into a physical element of the sculpture.
Two independent time zones allow the work to simultaneously reference two places on Earth, a reflection of distance, connection and the increasingly global nature of our lives.
Gears, celestial forms, timekeeping mechanisms and sculptural details move together within a single composition, blending function with storytelling.
Still Dreaming is ultimately about evolution, returning to an idea without returning to the same place.
The dream remains. Only the perspective has changed.

Shipping, Duties & Taxes
The first completed works are scheduled to begin shipping shortly.
Shipping is calculated separately according to destination, final packaging requirements and carrier rates at the time of dispatch. Collectors will be contacted prior to shipment with the applicable shipping cost.
Import duties, taxes, customs charges and other destination-specific fees, when applicable, are the responsibility of the collector.
For reference, shipping for works of similar scale and weight has typically ranged from approximately $300–$900 USD within the United States and $500–$1,500+ USD internationally.
Actual shipping costs will vary according to destination and current logistics conditions.
Availability
Still Dreaming is strictly limited to 30 numbered works worldwide.
A portion of the edition has already been allocated to collectors and selected gallery placement. Only a limited number remain available for acquisition directly through the studio.
Once the 30-piece edition has been fully allocated, the edition will be permanently closed.
Due to the limited-edition nature of the work, all sales are final and non-refundable.
