Dale-White-Nights-1
Dale-White-Nights-2
Commissioned by a client to contribute to the modern art and culture of Russia, White Nights will be installed at the Grand Display of Russia in Moscow.
This piece was inspired by the White Nights season, also called Beliye Nochi, which happens due to the geographical location of St. Petersburg. At 59 degrees and 57 minutes north, its high latitude causes the sun to not go under the horizon deep enough during sunset, resulting in skies bright enough during the summer even as night time approaches.
It is made of aluminium, glass, wood, acrylic, glass, brass, and steel.
