Key To Freedom

A child and his sibling would hide in their bedroom when their abusive stepfather would come home. Feeling restless, anxious, and fearful, the child would peek through the keyhole to keep an eye out, praying he would go away.

The design and construction of Key To Freedom is an invitation for people to get a better perspective on the life of an abused child by placing them in his shoes.

Rather than dwelling on the pain inflicted in an abused child’s life, Key to Freedom was created to honor the strength and determination to escape an abusive situation.
